GCL System Integration recently announced its subsidiary PV Product Inspection Center was accredited by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) on December 25, 2017 (accreditation number CNAS L10572). Based on the latest standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), 55 items were accredited, accounting for the most items accredited and covering the most comprehensive standards for any inspection center in the PV industry.

GCL System Integration laboratory director Wang Guofeng stated that the inspection center earning accreditation with the new standards of the CNAS signifies that the inspection capacity and management standards at the center have reached a new high, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data obtained at the center. Moreover, as the laboratory of a company, it will boost GCL’s competitive edge on the market.

CNAS is understood to be China’s only authoritative laboratory accreditation organization. Obtaining CNAS accreditation shows that a laboratory possesses the technical capacity of an internationally-accredited inspection service provider. Basically, a laboratory that receives CNAS accreditation is a laboratory accredited by the state, and such organizations are placed on the list with all others who have received such accreditation. These organizations are registered and made visible on the CNAS website to be monitored by the CNAS.

In addition, the CNAS is a signatory member of the mutual recognition arrangements for the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation. While issuing inspection reports on accreditation items, laboratories that have received CNAS accreditation may affix the CNAS mark of accreditation, which will give such reports authoritative and international credibility so as to obtain recognition from accredited MRA signatories in other countries/regions.

GCL System Integration’s PV Product Inspection Center was established in February of 2016 and is located in Zhangjiagang City of Jiangsu. It covers an area of 3,000 square meters and contains over 30 pieces of large testing equipment such as high- and low-temperature environmental test chambers, static simulators, and ultra-violet environmental test chambers. It also has over 20 precision measuring instruments such as handheld infrared imagers, 3D microscopes, and differential scanning calorimeters. Furthermore, there are over 50 pieces of small measuring devices such as programmable ground testers and spectrometers. The center has the capacity to carry out inspection sequences for the latest major PV industry standards including IEC61215, IEC61730, and UL1703.
